Why is Revival slow in coming?

Many a book has been written about this, so when I heard the still small voice ask me, I was surprised. Yet I wasn't surprised by the next question - “Why are most people so reluctant to pay the price?” Then He spoke some more to me and I'll try to communicate it to you.

Its all about paying the price. How many times does a prophet have to tell you that it's all about whether or not people are prepared to pay the price? Why do prayer meetings, especially those called to pray for revival, get so little support?

I have had this conversation with a friend before, but today, when he said it again, Holy Spirit almost shouted at me to listen. This is what my friend said - “Where is the crying out to God? When Pentecost came, everything exploded into life and had the mark of God on it. The best meetings I had in the past was when I locked myself away before the meeting and cried out to God for a breakthrough.”

My response to him was that “We come with expectations that exceed our preparations.” We seek to reap where we have failed to sow; to harvest from unprepared fields. The Lord interjected at this point, “YES - Do you expect Me to do everything? Do you expect Me to just give it to you on a plate, while you do little or nothing? Tell My people that repentance is only the start! After that must come time in the closet, crying out to Me. There is a price to pay, but in the West, there is so much reluctance that I sometimes wonder if you really want me to send Revival? Perhaps you only want it on your terms, to your timetable, and to your convenience? That's NOT how it works! ‘If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.’ This is how it works!”

God is waiting on our prayers; our heartfelt, passionate prayers. He is waiting for us to seek His face before we seek His hand. Oh that the Lord would give me that passion - set it deep in my spirit - and enable me to say to you, “That which I have, I give to you!”

It's time for us all, in unity, to cry out to the Lord, for mercy, for forgiveness, for REVIVAL!!!
